I am a self-taught artist and textile designer. As a City & Guilds ‘Gold Medal of Excellence’ winner in ‘Fashion Skills’ I was selected to exhibit a pair of hand painted and beaded slippers in the Victoria & Albert Museum. This brought forward a gift for painting and design. A teaching qualification followed and enabled me to teach textile experimentation, crafts and silk painting, both privately and at adult education classes. I am dedicated to botanical painting, sometimes using dead and dying specimens which are an enjoyable time consuming challenge. My home is opened to the public in June where I display and sell my paintings, together with my textile pictures and extensive range of both textile and painted gifts.
